Rereading my old posts, I see a commitment never to have 4 children. How time can change your outlook (time and your level of exhaustion). Actually, I still can't claim to want 4 children, but my husband and I are working on conceiving our third. (No, not right this second. And, yes, I've heard that joke before.)
Sometimes I think I'm a little deranged for making this choice, because I can catch a glimpse of freedom in the near future. We've signed a contract for Diana to attend a Montessori preschool starting next fall, and Rebecca will be in the 1st grade. I will actually have my mornings child-free! Well, I will for a few months before #3 is born, should we succeed in our efforts.
I'm definitely off my rocker for watching "A Baby Story" on TLC each morning that I go to the YMCA and climb on an elliptical machine. No one contemplating pregnancy should enjoy watching others go through the agony of labor, right? But somehow I watch it and always seem to come up with reasons why my experience will be different from the one I'm watching. I won't be screaming in a van racing to reach the hospital in time. I won't be the one begging for an epidural (I've delivered both girls without pain meds.) . I won't be the one who can't seem to get the baby past her hips (no questions there!).
But this time... no induction! No hernias (I hope)! No huge weight gain (I don't need it). Absolutely no pitocin. More naps! No more morning sickness!
Yeah, I'm insane.

I imagine it will be very hard, but you are an awesome mom and dad. How could you not have gloriuos babies?
Do you have any activities that you can do once in a while by yourself, or with someone locally? After a certain number of years being at home with the kids, I think it was really important to get out on a regular basis and do grown up stuff. I think the importance of it increases the more kids are around (5? 6? was the maximum I had around daily for a while), and lemme tell ya, getting out once in a while helped a LOT, and I didn't get to do it anywhere near as often as was needed. It does wonders for maintaining patience, too.
So... do YOU folks have any name ideas? *giggle*
Name ideas? No. We are pretty traditional as far as that goes (Diana and Rebecca). We just throw names back and forth until we both say "oh, that one is a possibility!" Diana we came up with after several hours of tossing around names. We were listing characters from mythology. (-:
Getting out of the house? Diana currently goes to Parents Day Out on Tuesday mornings and they are my day of sanity. I go shopping alone, sit and drink mochas at Panera, or even get long-needed chores done around the house. It is heaven. Until recently, I got out to see a small group of other moms and their kids for play group. But the central planner (and my best friend!) of it just moved away, and it fizzled.
Well... lemme see... I don't think the VK has enough "Daniels". (-:
